Would a MacBook Air be crappy compared to a Desktop?

Right now I have my laptop on life support. Usb cmstorm blue light keyboard (4 keys are going out on the laptop keyboard from gaming and college papers), cheap mouse, cooling pad running on full blast, and hooked to a 22" led tv because my screen is beyond broken. Good news is my audio/mic jack and my power supply still work as long as you put them in the right way \o/

New golden 16GB 2400mhz RAM, and latest GTX 970. My previous 970 received an overhaul improving temps, stability, etc. so I changed them out. The new one is much sexier.

Recently built a new PC. Was wondering if anyone knew anything about being able to put 2x 4gb Corsair DDR3 with 2x 2gb Hyperam DDR2 onto the MSI Z97 PC Mate motherboard.

cant match DDR2 with DDR3. yes the board supports both ddr2 and ddr3, but only one or the other. I;d stick with ddr3 as they have higher capacity and faster speeds.
