Currently in pre-release but offering quite an impressive view into what could possibly (maybe) be a minecraft killer at some point down the road. Personally, I don't think it will be minecraft killer but I do think it could very possibly draw a vast population of creative players from the minecraft community, which in turn does in fact harm the game as a whole. What do you guys think?

Below is a Lets Play of the game if you wish to see in depth actual play.

Yeah, I heard about this yesterday, never looked into it too much but it looks fun. Know the release date?

I've looked into it but it won't kill minecraft. Minecraft has the base game, then its got mods, custom maps and custom servers and there is always something new. Not just that if you watch some of the more popular minecraft youtubers I don't see Lego lps being anywhere as popular. Also the fact its only on steam cuts out a good chunk of the minecraft fan base

Ya, it's no Minecraft killer, I mean sure, it has uniqueness to it; but it won't kill it. It might shrink player base for a while like what GTA V did way back 2 years ago, but no, it won't kill it.

The Lego game does add new mechanics and features and plans to add vehicles in the future. Also things might get a bit more interesting when multiplayer comes out, if it does. Even with these though Minecraft has already been established as its own flavor of open sandbox, and will most likely stay afloat, even with new mock voxel based software being released.

Why is everyone talking about how it might kill minecraft here? Isn't this supposed to be about the game? This looks very good to me. This seems like it comes very close to truely fulfilling the standard promise of "you can do whatever you want" litterally. Excited to see how this turns out later down the line.

Does the game even allow you to build manually? Maybe it was just video editing, but all I saw were large schematic-like mountains and buildings being put into the world. It probably does have manual building, but if it doesn't, I don't see this ever becoming competition for Minecraft.

It does have single block modes. Watch a lets play of it and you will see more detailed in game content.

I will go ahead and post a lets play for you since I realize some people don't necessarily care to look stuff up themselves lol. Not necessarily meaning you quantizedtachyon but some people in general.

any of you remember an old Lego game that came out in the windows 98 era called "Lego creator?" I absolutely loved that game, and have been patiently waiting for Lego to wake up and do something like that again. Looks like they finally learned and made the Lego game that they should have made long ago (unfortunately it's only on Windows at this point, might have to consider dual booting or something.)

The variation of animals and characters (pirates, wizards, etc.) looks like a lot of fun, as well as the vehicles. I also like that the entire world is made of Legos. Thanks for posting the video.
