Just a curiosity of mine. Whats keeps you coming back over the months or years you've played on the server?
I've stayed here mainly because of the community and the friends I have that play on here. Playing on a different survival server just isn't the same for me.
I mostly play on here for the community as well, since vanilla singleplayer minecraft just doesn't interrest me. I frequently take breaks from playing Minecraft, but every now and then I start playing again on a whim. This time though it's been the new artist ranks that brought me back. Wether I play here or not though, I still keep checking the forums regularly.
I play because of the nice small community of people and friends. I like doing group projects, events, and even just talking in chat to people. Also, the variety of things to do on here such as get different ranks, make shops, build events, and just having a good time.
I mostly come on because of all the great people we have here, the mods, and just the the awesome vibe we all have going here.
Basically the first server I ever played on, but I keep coming back cause I know that there'll at least be someone I know from when I was more active to talk to while I conjure another insane project to attempt. Besides its really the only server I've been a part of that wasn't a private one.
Originally what got me on the server was my cousin who got me into minecraft many many years ago. I learned about minecraft on this server, never even played single player until probably a year later lol. At first I was very quiet and kept to myself, eventually after a couple months I got invited to staff to be a mod then once I really got involved with the great people who form this server (both staff and players) I was hooked. I have had a long journey on this server, from player to mod to admin to player to mod again lol. My activity level varies from month to month but what always brings me back is the great community of people. You guys and gals! So thank you for being amazing I also have this server to thank for bringing Dettles and I together, if not for MCS we might not even got to meet each other and get engaged.
I was introduced to the server about a month after I got minecraft and it was the first server I ever went on. As soon as I got a grip of what to do I loved it. The small community made it so I could know everyone and make close friends in that group. I remember when I joined there were events going on a lot which made it a great opportunity to play with the rest of the community. As I fell more and more in love with the server I decided to donate, slowly working my way up to [+++]. This made me enjoy the server even more. The reason I come back is to see progress friends have made and just to talk to the friendly community. Thank you to the Staff and the players on the server for making it such a wonderful experience.
I only joined this server many years back because a few of my friends played on it. I figured I'd buy this dumb game to see what all the fuss is about, mess around and get banned, and probably never play again. 4 years and probably ~5 thousand hours later... Yep I'm still here Obviously not nearly as much, but I'll probably never completely leave unless something major happens. I burned myself out prematurely because if any of you remember/played here in 2012/2013 you'll recall I was online for 4-6+ hours a day, practically every day. I don't really enjoy playing the core game anymore to be perfectly honest, but I like doing admin stuff and interacting with the community. I've made countless friends here.
When I decided to get into minecraft, my friend got me to join this server. Ever since the outstanding community is the main reason I play here and not on sp survival. That and I don't wanna be foreveralone, but that's a different reason alltogether. Basic reason is all of you guys who keep this place strong. Keep on doing what you're doing. It kept me here, I gauruntee it is what kept others here, and will keep people here in the future.
