so ive been playing this recently and it is by far one of the most frustrating games ever. It takes forever to connect and get spawned in a server. It takes another forever to find your friends who you want to play with cause the map is massive and you usually spawn like 15 miles apart. The worst part was night time. It was pitch black for what seemed like hours. I turned my brightness and gamma all the way up and I could barely see outlines of things, and then it started raining and I literally couldn't see a thing and got attacked by 4 zombies who were invisible to me. I understand this is a mod of a 3 year old game and it can be fun at times but damn is it annoying.
Thr0, I totally agree with you on certain points but I have never had any problems with connection times it takes like a minute overall for me. As for night gameplay you need to go to advanced options and put HDR (or something along that lines) to the highest. If you do not like night gameplay then find a server that is daytime (they reflect their locations irl) What makes this mod fun for me is its ruthlessness; you will be shot on site anytime anywhere for the fun of it. Every time you make a noise the zombies around will come to nom your brains. You will be raided, lied to, stolen from you will have to trek everywhere you want to go; unless you spend the time to fix up a vehicle that can be stolen and destroyed.
ARMA 2 id have to say is a very laggy but realistic game, while Dayz mod is getting chased around by bill clinton taking a crap whilst jumping around during the proccess of doing bath salts.
I played for two hours last night with a friend, and by with a friend I mean I got an AK and Uzi so I had awesome weapons, then I somehow clipped through a wall and fell a long way and broke my legs and died, and I never was able to find my friend cause we were on opposite sides of the map and kept dying trying to get to each other.
this mod became so popular it is turning into a standalone game, so yeah throtie, i would recomment the full game but not the mod.
no I wouldn't recommend either, it is by far the most frustrating game I've played in a long time, unless they completely remake it, I would not recommend it
Sorry similar game idea but Dayz is going to be a standalone following development system of minecraft.
This looked awesome when i first discovered it via yogcast and i do plan on getting, when though i dunno, could do with upgrading my pc first.
