Players that have played a considerable amount of time on our server should start a sort of faction. Who agrees? Time to make recollecting memories not too hard or rare a thing. Please post questions, answers, suggestions, anything but trollz. Ultimately I think it'd be a great addition to the "Elder" rank. A second chevron, in 1.7.3 talks . I just think older players should have recognition because we seem to have a considerable amount of vets. If this is a terrible idea, I'm sorry.
Here's what I was thinking. People come and go on the server. Some people stay for a little while, and some have been here for maybe a couple years. It varies. Many of the oldies are dying out and personally, I don't see many people anymore who joined before or even around the same time as for example Annabane and I. To me, that is a sad thought. Little by little, it's like the people we knew from when we first joined, are disappearing and now there are fewer and fewer of us. The old generation is dying. As Annabane said, it would be cool to recollect memories of the old days and hopefully bring us together. There are so many veterans, er, Elders, which is an amazing thing, but it would be cool to distinguish the elders and the oldies if that makes sense. I don't want to sound like we would be separating the community, but recognizing the older generations somehow. They've stuck together for a long time, and in doing this could maybe establish a higher appreciation for the dedication of the population. Obviously this would take a lot of thought and consideration, but Annabane and I would like to see something like this happen.
I mean, there will be discussion about it hopefully, so nothing is decided yet Harry. I'd consider you an oldie. Also, some people have been here since before then even king, but yeah something like that would be cool.
Well, I mean a year is quite sometime, but i guess it really depends on the length established for the possible rank
Here are my thoughts on what the ranks could be for... eldership. Tier 1 - 3 months: standard elder perks - nothing different. Tier 2 - 6 months: standard elder perks, /fly, and a ^ as there prefix. ( I miss that. ) Tier 3 - 12 months: standard elder perks, /fly, access to StompzHammer, two ^^'s as the prefix, and a light green chat color. Those are what I think the tiers should be.. I hope the Overseers really bring some of these aspects to the game!
Idk, A year and then stompzhammer? That may stop lots of people from donating. (cuz let's face it, many donate for the perks)
Yus^^. The ultimate goal of tiers in the elder rank is to give players incentive to keep playing. Honestly, people donate for Stompz and flying, so those shouldn't go to any other rank but staff. I was thinking magic carpet and/or instashovel. maybe.
We removed magic carpet because we were getting kicked for, "Flying too fast", and I'm not sure instashovel exsists. Perhaps something related to an exclusive shop from the King?
I'll do some digging for a serverside mod. maybe flying for 10 min. like as gigadrill, or greenthumb youknow? as mcmmo does it, with a recharge time. and when you donate, you get the full thing. the only problem i see with this is current donors like myself would get no benefit from being ranked as ^^^elder.
So, wouldn't the exculsive shop make more sense than connecting it to donator? I'll be damned if we were ever to connect donations with gametime.
not so much time as limitations on a perk per say. and it was the server that kicked for "flying too fast" can't that kick just be removed? honestly, players get /fly at a 5$ donation. playing for a year i'd want /fly by then. idk. It'd honestly be kinda cool if you could turn off lava damage. thus making nether travel and obby mining much smoother. and people wouldn't rage quit if they fell in and lost all there stuff?
Okay, lets talk about perks for a moment here. Because users seem to be confusing them for a direct advantage. What we try our best to do is come up with perks which won't offer users a direct advantage over other users, also we try to make them relate to the rank, is hunter can mob catch etc. Having a form of god mode/ and other such powers won't be made for perks because they just fuck up the balance. Also donator perks stay donator. They are specific to them and won't be used in another rank. However since you can stack your current rank with donator and elder I don't see this as much is a issue.
