floppy just wanted to see our sweet dettles :3 Our first con was pretty successful, and it was so amazing as all these people behind screens gathered together and bonded like real friends (and heck yes, we're awesome friends!!) Everyone was respected (regardless of age), and we had so much food + snacks + dettle's cake. Dettles was so talented cuz she made a thank you card for stanky (and there was a golden ban hammer on front!) Evil mojobunny was trying to punch and poke everyone she saw! More pics and videos coming up in a few days! (I am making bsp do it :O) - where is our group picture? XD
=C Wish I could have gone, school made that impossible though :/, that and being broke from school...
Drachnem has a lot of pictures (including the group picture). So Seraphint needs to get Drachnem on that . I can get a group picture off of my mom's phone though.
I really was a great time - wish more of you could have made it of course, but with the smaller group we were really able to be flexible and fast moving. Friday night, we semi-split into two groups, three if you count Seraphint going to bed (he was up for over 24 hours), but Saturday we had a nice group at the Museum for hours, my calves still ache. Bajj got the dart war going after that and when everyone was hungry after we got most of the group to an Indian restaurant that had some pretty good food and some pretty crappy service. After we were back at the hotel for Dettles Cake (a new term) which was yummy and the card they got me was very cool - I had no idea, and Dettles got me some Creeper beer glasses which I used as soon as I got home that evening. Also - for those of you who liked the bread/cracker appetizer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papadum is what they were. Bajj, tell your mom!
Lol, I kept wondering what papadum is and when I checked the wiki, realised tis papad... Something that is even more common here (of course) than it would be in the UK or US ;] So yeah, bottom line - Indian food rocks.
I can only tell you that they are rare in Pittsburgh at Indian restaurants. I've been to 5 or so in the area and this is the first place to serve it - and it was pretty damn good, very good texture and the garlic just - yum!
Not all Indian restaurants serve papadums as complimentary appetizer here (some restaurants serve naan bread instead). It's kind of like fried tortilla and salsa sauce. I am sure it's more common in the UK; I heard a lot of really good Indian restaurants are in the UK because of UK's early exposure to Indian spices (according to one of my professors who's from UK).
I think I managed to avoid most of the pictures.... I dont like my picture taken XD I am in the group photo but if it will appease the masses I will get something up for you all lol. I promise I am not that exciting, but I will do it just for you.

If you want my version of the group photo it would be this :3 Just kidding. Overall it was a enjoyable time (at least while I was there) can't wait for the next!
