You all need to get this game. It's the best $10 you'll ever spend, and I don't say that about most games [yes I do]. Losing is part of the game, and it's not rage inducing either. Here's a rundown on what FTL is - You're a Federation captain of a space ship carrying crucial information that could destroy the rebel fleet. You have to fly across space, fighting space pirates, aliens, cruising through asteroid fields and dangerous nebulae, all with the rebel fleet on your tail, to get to the Federation fleet. You will lose, more times than not. But, it will be fun. Here's how I feel when playing this game FTL - on Steam
Got it, loved it, best combo of weps I got was two lazer 2 cannons and 2 pike lazers, camo till they charge then take down shield with lazer once they are down double pike their rooms (almost 8 hull damage every time >:3)
I see you used brute force for your win ^-^, no cloaking device is harsh at the second boss stage. I do have a question, why do you upgrade your med station and oxygen? BTW what difficulty was this on?
Harry, I think that everyone is entitled to their own opinion but you coming on here, stating a random "rating" then leaving without a) reasons to why you dislike it b) how long you played it {if you have} c) and why 0/10 was your overall impression of the game, is a set up to anger the people who like the game. I don't care if you have had this happen to your own precious game, the only reason I can see you saying that is just to be a total dick.
I have to applaud you on your great comeback to the points I drew out for you harry, a dislike is a totally acceptable reply. I still would like to know "a) reasons to why you dislike it b) how long you played it {if you have} c) and why 0/10 was your overall impression of the game" since you seem to be adept on ignoring my questions upon your low critique of the game.
A reply to multiple posts This was on easy. I'm going to keep playing on easy til I win a couple more times. I upgraded my oxygen and med station so this wouldn't happen again. Also, I collected as many burst laser IIs as I could, because they're arguable the best weapon in the game in terms of damage per second. I think Harry was just making a joke, as my poll only had 10/10 would buy again options.
I like how the game looks, might go and buy it soon. Very few actual "micromanagement" space games out there, and it'll absolutely drive my ability to RP to next levels. However, a more crucial point needs to be raised: Haruhi Suzumiya is amazing ;P
Game looks pretty awesome, just saw a few videos so far. ;p if anyone wants to gift me the game i'm not gonna say no c:
Annnd 75% off for 15 more hours! STEAM SUMMER SALES!!! Also. I got the game, made it to sector nine in my 3rd try, about to confront the Flagship: my ship: Engi-Medbot Dispersial, Scrap Arm, Long Ranged Scanners Result: Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler After a success in destroying the 2 stages of the ship, the 3rd destroys me with 1 last missle Score: 3350
I prefer the ship design process and options of Stardrive over this not to mention it has way more content. I've not played this though, is it a 4x game or just basically a short survival game with 1 ship where you survive as long as you can?
I don't know what you mean by 4x game, but it's single player. basically you pick a ship and try to get to the end. Here's a picture of the map. Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler Here's what it looks like in your average sector The dots on the map are random each game, and you start on the left and go to the right. So, no, it isnt a survival game, but it is short. However, it's an adventure in itself just making it to the end, as everything is different. The game is moderately difficult.
Ah so not a 4x, okay. Also, 4X games are a genre of strategy video game in which players control an empire and "explore, expand, exploit, and exterminate." 4X games are known for their complex gameplay and strategic depth. Most 4x games are space strategy games where you expand and conquer the universe through various means, though not limited to space games it can include games such as Civilization V. Some games that are 4x are: Sins of a solar empire, Endless space, Stardrive, Galactic civilizations, Civilization V and many others.
