I can't see why Microsoft would shoot themselves in the foot like this; so I'm inclined to believe they won't do it until I hear solid evidence. Surely the SimCity fiasco is still fresh in their minds.

I have always had good experience with with PlayStation Network also. It really comes down to, you get what you pay for. Yeah Xbox has some advantages over PlayStation in terms of security as well as online play. However, about the membership and the 50% off, PlayStation does offer PlayStation Plus, of witch I am a subscriber to, and I love it. Free games, discounts up to 90% off. But either way I don't want to turn this into a pissing match. They both have their ups and downs, and as Fill said, we will not know until everything is confirmed. But either way I will be going with the PS4, no matter what the next gen Xbox offers.
My internet is not good or bad, it only gets bad when my dad screws up the internet every other month.
As I said, im not a harcore gamer as some of you are, I spent like 1 hour maximum 2? Videogomes ( console ) are not my life so this always on thing seems fine to me. I am not a fanboy, I know xbox has disadvantages, and I won't start giving disagrees or dislikes showing my hate towards the other console. its just a FUCKING GAME.
I too have an Xbox as well as a Ps3, but I rarely use the Xbox. I prefer the Ps3 for a game system, but that is if the computer is out of the question. My personal experiences with play station have been far more extensive, and the wi-fi on the console seems better than "Internet access required 100% of the time" on an Xbox, not to mention having to pay monthly just to connect to the Internet- that's what we pay the cable company for. I know that the payments are just to access Microsoft's servers, but having the console on all of the time, even when not in use, seems impractical and not to mention a waste of electricity. Concluding, I would choose Ps3 over Xbox when it comes to gaming consoles, and if my computer was out of the question.
I have a ps3 and an xbox and both have weak and strong points... Xbox live is a more robust service than anything PS3 has. You get a new/popular game on PS3 and there are entire days you can't play it online, and that never seems to happen on the Xbox. However I think the PS3 has a better looking GUI - even tho shit isn't in logical places - because Xbox trashed their superior GUI and filled it with ads and made it 'kinect compatable' - so big blocky ugly graphics/etc... the Xbox does seem to have more unique games - meaning - more games. I'm going to own both systems whenever they come out. I'm likely done with ninetendo for a generation or two.
They put so much effort in to kinect. Its not even that good. My brother has one its just not worth it and it looks like they are trying to make every game compatable with kinect which is just stupid. Here is a stupid kinect game...
