Can someone just short explain the whole idea of Final fantasy and what I just watched? The only thing I know is that I loved it.
Okay so the first version of Final Fantasy XIV was terrible. But it came a long way. So what they're doing is remaking the entire game, maps, quests, etc. to fit this in with the lore, the evil Garlean Empire is attacking Eorzea, forcing an uneasy alliance between the three city-states. The empire wins and destroys the world, but the old dude uses magic to teleport everyone or something to the new world (the new map)
good news - I GOT IN! bad news - i cant activate it because they sent me a dodgy code and i cannot request a new activation code apparently -_-
Yeah, I just got an email from them too, don't have time to activate it or whatever right now, but so excited! Also I learned how to make gifs.

email says if i share beta code i cant play ever and they ban my ip or some shit, something to do with they picked me because of my application and it is a one use code :/
I got in though, and my beta code got accepted. Not sure why, I have never actually bought any of their games and crap... If yer nice, then I'd change my password and let ya play on it. Only if yer nice, mind you.
Emailed SE support on friday, we echanged a few emails, and they're "investigating it" This whole situation is so ironic. People who never played FF get the beta, and me, who has played FFXIV, got the fancy 'legacy' status to be guaranteed into the beta, did not get the beta. edit: just got an automated email detailing the beta schedule for this weekend. what a tease.
Welp, after a few days of emailing, i got my beta code. It seems they just didn't send me one when they meant to. All is well with the world again.
Bump. Does anyone know when open beta phase 4 is? When I found out I got into the beta (damn e-mail put it in junk) it was right when phase 3 ended, and i've been waiting a while for phase 4. :c The game's launching soon, when's beta gonna open up again? :/
Usually theres a beta test every weekend, from friday to sunday. However, I've been on vacation for the last week (and will be for another) so I wont be able to play anyway. Game comes out august 26th.
Checked yesterday night, beta phase 4 will be on August 15 ^^ The client is available for download atm, and it can be used for the beta and official release.
Going to play as much of the beta as I can until I can pick up the game myself. It may get me to stop playing FFXI for a while...
