As you may know, a lot was released on both the Xboxone and the Playstation 4 today at E3. For those who care, please post here. Please no harmful words just friendly discussion please or it will get deleted. Let me know what you think!

PS4 all the way. There is no question about it in my mind.

I don't want a cable box - I already have one. I want a gaming system. A gaming system with NO restrictions. I don't want my system to stop working after 24 hours because its not connected to the internet. I don't want to pay for playing used games, I want to lend my games to my friends if they ask.

I personally think Sony killed it tonight - Not to mention the price between the PS4 and Xbox One, the PS4 is $100 cheaper. You do the math.

What do you want? Do you want a cable box/game system. Or do you want a gaming system focused on gaming, and gamers. Sony is taking a stand for gamers.

Actually - I was my game systems to do it all - and neither system offers that right now. XB1 is nearly crippled with requirements, doesn't have a TV facing DVR, and when the fuck are people going to wake up to the fact that people are just fine with controllers/remotes? It sure sounds cool to talk to a system, but you know what is cooler, clicking a button three times and getting what you want.

As for PS4, when it comes to hardware it's nearly a tie with XB1, but there is a crippling problem - the PS network is far inferior over the Live network. Trust me I've player super-hit games on both of my systems when they came out, and PS almost always has a problem and Live only failed once. It's worth the monthly sub!

But here is the question - with all the negative feedback - how much will XB1 change? There is a reason they are not confirming anything too hard...

Well, as I said in the chat, buying a gaming console boils down to what games it has, and I prefer Xbox games over Playstation games. So the choice is easy for me. Do I like the new throttling aspects Microsoft has added? Hell no, nobody does/should.

If you don't care either way about which has which exclusive games, then the PS4 absolutely is the better deal, cheaper base price, cheaper online subscription, and none of the previously mentioned game throttling stuff.

Honestly, if I could use an Xbox controller on a Ps4(maybe you can idk) and it had Halo, I would strongly consider switching back to playstation.

With how Sony just shit on Microsoft tonight, I am curious to see how Microsoft responds because they cannot do nothing or else they are dead in the water. I suspect they loosen their throttling(maybe make it so a game can be used by other people up to 20 times or something, and maybe increase/get rid of the online game check). Microsoft showed their hand too early and Sony jumped on the opportunity

Hopefully with the requirement of paying for online for the PS4, it will improve online servers, and PSN will be just as stable as Xbox Live. But only time will tell with that.

I agree about the hardware, both are very similar in design, and specs.

Not in the mood to type a lot.
    PS4.
(I'd say PC myself but who am I kidding, I'm a teenager who is barely affording the setup he's building)

I also don't think Microsoft will change anything. If they do change anything, It will make them look even more weak - if they change something they are basically saying "yeah, we were wrong."

Halo 5, I only play halo and fifa, I know sony won the night, but you guys get exited as if you won something. I will get the Xbox one, I will get Halo 5, after I beat it, I'll play fifa and wait for the final halo.

Companies don't care about if they look weak or not, they care about making money or not, and if it looks like their requirements will make them less money, esp during the first real of competitive release, they will change. The corporate world isn't a bunch of kids trying to psych each other out - it's all about numbers that everyone gets to look at.

To answer the question - I'll likely wait a year and end up with both systems because 1) I never buy first release models, 2) I always buy every gaming system out there.

The big question is - will this encourage Google to release an Android based game system of their own?

My bet: Yes, and it won't just be google app store stuff like you see today. I'm talking full blown CoD/Halo type games.

Ok I'll add one more thing.
Go visit http://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/ and notice how many valid points they make on PS4's side. Yes, valid points, not ranting and raving with no backup arguments. (For the most part)

They do make valid points, the whole press conference made valid points, but I guess it really just comes down to what you want in a game system. I feel like if I am going to pay for any online, I would want to go with PSN, I will give them the chance to improve their online service (not that I personally see a problem with it now) but with paying for that membership, we can expect better things to come from Sony.

Xbox One. I believe this console has superior graphics. I have a few reasons to support my thinking. Game devs have always developed better for xbox (look at cod for xbox vs ps3...), there are more visually appealing games on xbox, and some developers only develop for xbox.

I would also throw in that this will replace my apple tv hopes (because it has a lot of flaws tbh), will have more of a selection for my gaming desires (Halo 5, etc), and the controller feels a lot more familiar (no offense to ps3, but if these consoles are so similar, why choose an unfamiliar controller that I suck at using?).

Personally, the online stuff is a moot point for me. I will have xbl, and will pretty much always be connected when I play it, so why should it matter if there is some online thing? As for used games, I'm not too worried. I'm also really happy to see the games get tied to your gamertag so you don't have to use the disc every time - as THAT is my number 1 concern with this console. I want to play disc free. The future of gaming is disc free, marketplace download, and this is a step in the right direction - its also a big reason for the 24 hour connectivity thing, so I'm all for it.

So I want to say a few things to some people.

Well there's this. None out for PS4 since the console isn't out yet.

/r/gaming is in a HUGE circlejerk right now. Very biased. Here's my favorite one.
But there are some points that would make it more attractive to people who don't like a HAL in their living roomwith tons of DRM It's just a joke calm down a console pretty much the same as the PS4 but with online connectivity required.
    Such as: This and This

Also the price of the PS4 does seem more attractive to me, as do the price of used games. I don't have $500 to throw around and $60 for each game, but I bought my PS3 for $400, and I'd do it again with this console too.

While online play for PS4 will no longer be free, looking at its PlayStation plus service now, it's actually really good. Free actual good games. Dare I say, better than X-box live.

Also there's kingdom hearts 3. So there's that.

I'm going to be getting a Ps4 maybe a few months after it comes out.

I like the points. The only negative is the option to "sell" or "share" your games. But honestly, I don't do this, and will more than likely forget discs altogether if I can get same-day downloads (standing in line at gamestop at midnight just doesn't appeal to me anymore).

Well call me old-fashioned, but I actually like owning a physical copy of my games (except for PC master race if the price is super low).
I still regret buying a digital copy of Catherine for my ps3 instead of going to Gamestop. (for the box art, and I couldn't do this when I wanted to show my friend how cool the game was)

Seeing them all on the shelf, looking at the wonderful (and sometimes I-Could-Do-Better) box art, reading the little manuals as the game installs and loads, maybe even get a cool poster or origami figure to make.

Know what I think? Blah blah blah...

My gaming system does it all, its this cool thing called a Computer. You know, the thing the Xbox and PS basically are only compact, and non-upgradeable cheaper versions that you have to replace when the next version comes out :p

So my thoughts? Forget both of them and invest in a gaming computer: Better quality, more customization, easily upgraded, multi-function, free quality online play.

Really if i had to pick one i would go with the PS4 because i have everything the xbox one has in it already... skybox, pc for skype and gaming, my ps3 and pc for Netflix Also i love all the PS3/ps4 only games like Unchanted and kill zone, ratchet and clank and more. i also grew up with a PS1 to PS2 to PS3 so the PS controller has all ways been the best for me.

Honestly, the "Improvements" (restrictions) On the xboxone are a big turn-off. I'd usually get the xbox for halo. But now, that Halo is in the hands of 343, and in halo 5 the camera is bird's eye view, I'm considering the PS4.

In the end, it'll probably boil down to whether or not Destiny will release on both systems.

Well of course, the PC master race should go without saying. but the topic of this thread is Xbone or Ps4.
