Hello Everyone! Found out some pretty cool things you can enable in minecraft a bit ago, thoughts it's time I share them 1. Increasing Gamma (Brightness) Above "Bright"! Yup, you read it correctly! You can have your Gamma up to 500%! Step 1. Go to your .minecraft folder! This can be done by opening your Start Menu and typing in %appdata% and hitting enter. OR you can hit the windows sign on your keyboard (By Fn) + R and then type in %appdata% Step 2. Open Options.txt! Step 3. Change your Gamma! Note: Yours WILL be on 0.0 or 1.0! Change it to whatever value you'd like! (2.0=2oo% 2.25=225% 1.5=150%) Step 3. Save and enjoy! (If it doesn't work just repeat until it does! i had to retry it a few times myself) Here's a vid: 2. Showing Durability Numerically! Step 1. Open your Inventory! Step 2. Press F3 and H at the Same time! 3. Never Agroing Enderman! Never Agro an Endeman by staring at it! Step 1. Grow a Pumpkin Step 2. Put on the Pumpkin Open your Inventory and drag the pumpkin onto your head-armor spot! 4. Holding Down a Key Without Being at Your Computer? Step 1. Press and hold the key you want to be held down. Example: Hold down W if you want to walk forward. Note: you can do this with as many keys at a time as you’d like. Step 2. While still holding the key you want held down, press “Alt” key on your keyboard (or F10) Note: This will freeze your computer until… Step 3. Now, Release the key you have held down and click with your mouse. MAKE SURE YOU REALEASE THE KEY BEFORE CLICKING! How to Disable it: To remove the key you have held down just hit it again, open your inventory, or hit “Escape”. Example: Hit the W key to stop walking forward. Important Note: While your computer is frozen (after you hit the ALT key) you will NOT take damage. Using the “alt” key to avoid taking damage is called “Alting”, and is a punishable offense! Sorry it's not much yet, I'll edit some more stuff in later, but for now, Enjoy! EDIT: Will also add a Mac section too.
Good tips. I've read them elsewhere, too. I don't recommend the first one. It helps to have super brightness since you don't really neat torches while mining, but you'll probably be suspected of cheating.
That's like saying we can't turn up the brightness in the in-game options... If it's part of the vanilla game, it can't really be a hack.
We have ways of detecting cheating that really don't depend on the user using torches or not. Besides, since the user is not modifying the game client but only changing a setting in the options that is provided by Mojang, then I do not see what the issue is with modifying the setting file. It is just like using the config.ini file in some games as opposed to using the ingame options menu.
*BUMP* Added a new section and a video. Also fixed some grammar mistakes and added snazzy colors. Also: could a staff member add this to the Server Tutorials section? Thanks...
