Minecraft in space. With machines. And spaceships. And space battles. 'Nuff said. http://www.spaceengineersgame.com/ Currently on Steam available in Early Access. Buy it and we can play together.
Space, the FINAL frontier. Unless, there more than one space. Then theres more frontiers, then theres always games about that frontier and the frontier's frontier, and so on and so forth. Space.
Sadly the devs just copied Starmade, also if the companies past performance is anything to go by, expect the project to be abandoned, or end up nothing like you expect or they originally claimed. http://star-made.org/
In Starmade the focus is planets, in space engineers, the focus is Asteroids and a non-cube preset structs. I prefer this game to starmade as it is way more sandbox-y.
So SE gives you different shapes to create things with? If that's the case, then that is amazing and I'm gonna get it right away.
I don't want to wrongly influence your decision to spend money so don't get me wrong, there are cubes, but there is MORE than cubes + they can be placed in any orientation. Google "Space Engineers Creations" and revel in the creativity that is the community.
I like Space Engineers better than Star made, Mostly due to the fact of how Space Engineers is less blocky and has (imo) better physics.
Space engineers is currently #1 on Steam, I don't think the project will be cancelled anytime soon...
While it is terrible how their last game went, and the CEO Marek Rosa acted like an entitled ass (a la Phil Fish), the game so far is pretty solid, and progress is being made on it. Hopefully the team he has is solid, and hopefully he isnt moderating the steam forum. For the price though, its fun, and has even been on sale a couple times. I had a similar experience with the game Off Road Drive. The game looked lickabley good, but played like shit. Went on their forums to voice my displeasure (the game cost around $35) and ask when a patch was gonna come out, and was banned, along with loads of other people. Had a similar experience with All Points Bulletin, back when it was a paid game. TL;DR: While their past transgressions were idiotic, they are not unheard of, and the new game is off to a solid start so far.
I load it up every now and then, whenever a big patch comes out. I havent really been gaming much lately.
I've really been enjoying that they put out a patch every week. I actually get excited to see what gets added before I go to work that day. But likewise I only play for a little while to do some work on my huge ship and then hop off to do something else.
can someone tell me is it worth the buy? im really searching for a good replacement game for minecraft right now and im into spaceships - tried out starmade for a while but can't find anyone that really wants to play. how do the online servers work? IS there any? is there an ingame currency of sorts?
This is one of the ones where I feel early access is a pretty good deal. It could stand on its own as a sandbox game right now if it had to.
bought it, i play on the se:somethin:something server... its at the topish for me, anyone got a nice one?
