actually, I am one of those people who puts nice stuff in /chest. It is where I store the stuff I don't want to risk losing by accidental death. Crap that is filling up my inventory is sold to the crap king.

It's fortunate you haven't had your /chest wipe out before then, like I have and some other player(s).

I"ve had my normal chests bug and lose whats in them.
I've had a whole chunk mess up and lose whats in it.
I've yet to have /chest mess up and lose whats in it.

As far as my experience goes /chest has been safest lol. Though im sure it has messed up for some people just the same, its minecraft and is to be expected unfortunately.

I used to feel chests where safe because the contents were logged and could be rolled back if something went wrong, but since we don't even log that anymore...

I use my /chest to store valuables I don't want to lose upon death. But with death chest and /back as well, I just use it to store tools and needed stuffs for convenience whenever I need to do something. In the past before my /back, /chest was very useful.

My /chest is my utility belt. What I want to save goes in. Anytime I need something it is in there.

I carry survival gear in it. I die lots so I always carry a diamond set, iron block, stack of diamonds, 1 stick, 2 water buckets, and food. I try to have at least one silk pick and one ForIII pick in it. I leave those there for safety, since I die lots. One set of tools.

The rest is extra carry space for ores and shit.

Silk pick an on lamp and you'll get the same.
It turns off when you place it though.
