So this game is for people who like history, strategy, geography etc. March of the Eagles is an RTS (Real Time Strategy, no turn taking) game that takes place in Europe at the beginning of the 19th century. For all of you who don't know much about history, It's when being french was cool and Napoleon was out trolling Europe, america has recently gained its independence from Britain, and Britain's navy was the finest in the world. However, you the player can make your own history in this game. You start out by picking a country. It can be any country, and no country starts out equal. Hell, you can pick the Holy Roman Empire and have fun trying not to get conquered, or you can pick France and conquer le Europe. The game is only $20 (US) and I'd really like someone to conquer Europe with me. >.> Here's a quick overview of the game Here's the steam page
If I had the funds, I would love to. (I am working on the fact that it is PC and not Mac. Hopefully I will be able to make it run on Mac)
looks kinda like if risk was a rts :/ I love me some risk but I am not a huge fan of rts since I need it to be a bit on the slower paced side (ie I cant play sc2) how is it?
Meh. It looks exactly like Crusader Kings II, and then exactly. Only difference is the fact that I can't go and have trouble with my hereditary system and stuff... (Cursed reproduction system! I'll lose half my empire if my wives won't give me sons.) Regardless, I liked Crusader Kings II better, despite the fact that it has more bugs than your local compost heap, simply because you had more chances as a small country. I started the campaign as a random country East of Sweden, Ötland if I am right, and am currently king of England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Sweden, Norway and small fragments of other countries. (I'll lose Sweden and Norway if I don't get a son.) On top of that, CKII spanned from 1080-ish to 1450-ish. So a lot longer. Playing with generations, trying to break the Holy Roman Empire at every turn to capture more of his land, and trying to conquer Jerusalem are all fun tasks to undergo. I just don't think you'll get that kind of a feel with your game. That's my opinion at least. Still, the game you're playing seems fun on it's own right.
Quite interesting (Move your mouse to reveal the content) Quite interesting (open) Quite interesting (close) Öland, Small fucking island in east Sweden, no one likes it But there's a swedish game that really reminds me of what you describe, but it's almost historical correct ^^ But it's more focused on hiring people that can help you and who mattered thru history. If it would have been in Italy, hiring Da Vinci would be really helpful and he'd maybe come of with some way of making your [Insert pretty much anything] much more efficient. I'd love to make some examples, but they're all swedes or german... Or like... Lithuanian...
