Its basically a war strategy game where you are a race and you build up your civilization and in time take over the world. I bought this game yesterday when it was 75% off on steam. I thinks its really fun. Could anyone give me some good advice on strategy as I keep upsetting the Russians? xD
The Russians are the least of your problems... My advice is to watch out for Gandhi. That peace-loving man will nuke the crap out of you. ...In terms of real advice, however, it would be better to watch a couple of tutorials on youtube. I'm not that in-depth with the game, despite playing since Civ II, and there's just "so" much information to know about it. Always keep your people happy, try to find the best places for your cities to reap big resources, and keep yourself alive with soldiers guarding your city. Play on an easy setting to get the feel of things until you're used to the game, then crank that bastard up and start nuking everything... ...Until Gandhi decides to nuke you anyway.
Well in my game the Russians took over 1 of the 2 continents. On the other continent there is my civilization, the USA, Brussels, some other small city, and poor China (took 2 of its cities in the beginning mwahaha). So with the Gandhi out of the picture I am worrying about Russia. xD
The AI is not geared towards military actions. On lower difficulties diplomacy is a joke, making it easy to bully other civs with impunity.
I like the game but it is fairly boring on lower levels. I enjoy playing on either level 5 or 7 because the AI's actually build militaries and will fight smart instead of just invading the strongest city and dying in a few minutes. This way you HAVE to play with them and not against them. You have to be friends with people or you will die very fast, especially if montezuma is there, he will declare war on you if you are weak, friends or not.
