Tell me the best parts, cpu, gpu, memory, hdd, case, motheboard, power supply, etc that would make a good computer with a budget of 1k approximately. Thanks in advance.
Just buy a pre-made one from CompUSA or a sub-company that isn't a main retailer for about $800 and spend the extra $100 or so for a warranty. Yes building your own is a cheaper solution, but a dumber solution unless you have had PLENTY of experience putting together these systems. The headache you will go through if you run through diagnostics if anything becomes an issue, its better to just spend the $75-$100 dollar difference to have it pre-made and also have a warranty included. Its a plus to not have the headache involved and to have everything pre-installed for you. If you head to a BestBuy or any main-title retailer you will over-pay for any computer.
I assume you are wanting the best gaming computer for 1k that you can get. While it is cheaper to build it yourself and you do get to get custom quality parts that often are unavailable to you through bulk retailers, if you are not familiar at all with the parts and components you can actually cause yourself quite a headache especially if you buy incompatible parts or plug the wrong thing into the wrong socket and fry something important... You have two options, build it yourself or Buy from a retailer. Buying from a retailer is easier but a bit of a gamble and often dong get a system that can be fully customized but you do get that warranty on the whole system. However you still get a warranty of the parts you buy new as well if building it yourself, as long as you don't void the warranty by doing something you shouldn't have with the part and end up damaging it Also would like to mention in regards to warranties that the parts you buy say... from NewEgg if that is the route you go, if your really wanting warranty on your system greater than the standard warranty on parts 1 year 2 year and 3 years warranty can be purchased for a little extra. Not to mention that many parts on NewEgg do in fact come with a 1 year warranty included, not all but some do. For instance my motherboard im buying comes with a 1 year warranty included from NewEgg a $16.99 value. So if that is a worry of yours its actually cheaper to just buy extended warrantys on the high value parts you want covered rather than spending several hundred dollars to get warranty on your whole system from a retailer. Just my opinion on the matter. If you buy from a retailer id just go with Dell or IBuyPower. If you are wanting to build it yourself an easy way it to browse Newegg and assemble parts you like virtually and decide if that's what you want before buying them all. If your not familiar with all the parts, components, what they do and how important each part is whatch the 3 videos below: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 which ever route you decide to go wish you the best
I completely agree with them, building your own is the cheapest route to go. I got lucky with my computer when I bought it from BestBuy, because they had a literal truck load of new computers coming in a few days after I bought mine so they had knocked the price down about $250. Building is definitely the best route, since you can get what you want and take advantage of the deals that these sites offer. I prefer newegg, but you can also use tigerdirect since they're similar. I'm just biased towards newegg because I've bought a lot from them between my own personal stash of goodies and my tech school + my college professors all bought from them.
