Tired of seeing all of that empty space near spawn? Never had enough money to buy a plot?
Well this Friday at 5:00PM (EST) - new prices for all plots in G-Town!
You must have money on hand to get your plot!
Rules:
Do not spam chat or OS's/Admins for a plot on Friday. We will ask who we can help and sell to the first person who responds. You must buy your own plot and can not have someone buy it for you.
Be cool fool.
Well this Friday at 5:00PM (EST) - new prices for all plots in G-Town!
You must have money on hand to get your plot!
Rules:
- You must keep your plot nice. This is next to spawn remember, we do not want ugly buildings turning away new players.
- No 1x1 towers, clocks that cause lag, etc.
- Shops are OK.
- Exposed gates are not - Put them in a building!
- You may NOT resell your plot. If you don't want anymore, we take it back, no refunds.
- If you are gone for a long time (months for nice plots, weeks for undeveloped plots) your building and plot will be removed. No refunds.
- The buffer between plots is 1 block. You can build right up to that block/use your entire plot. If you and your neighbor need some smoothing of land between your plots, ask an OS or Admin for help.
- One 1 plot per player. (Per player means, your alt may not have one.)
- Plots may NOT be merged.

Hey there folks, thought you would appreciate some news on updates, plugins, policies, and making sure we're not dead. We're not! In fact, the OS's have been secretly talking about what we wanted to do with ranks for some time (and are still debating what should be done), and today marks the first update I can actually post about. Its a Dev Diary!
-----
Part 1: The Pillars of MCS
The OS have fallen into two groups concerning ranks.
1) Go with a tree / progression based system, ala last map ranks
2) Go with a personalized perk system, ala the last map bonus perks but for everything
I'm here to say that neither group has won so far, but it should be noted that the pillar system - a hybridization where each rank is part of a tree, and where you can pick and choose bonus perks, has begun implementation.
This is EXTREMELY early in its lifespan - Names, perks, etc. are likely to change, especially where you notice a TBD
Expect the first "rank" to be just a color change, but one that also opens up options for you in the perk tree later.
Further, expect certain perk signs to work differently based on your rank.
In the future you should expect:
More types of ranks, with the proverbial "fighters" and "miners" having more stylized and open-ended perks (o.e. you pick & choose)
A way to go "back" in rank, which will refund you some money. Most likely only available in the first and second tiers and locked out from specialized tiers.
As of right now, the Economist tier is coming together nicely. In the future, this tier will encompass the Mayor group, but expect more information about that in the future.
For now, explore: http://www.minecraftserver.com/forum/wiki/survival-rank-pillars/

From Mojang:
We thought long and hard about what the next update should be about. Over the last few years we’ve touched everything from survival to creative, monsters to blocks, overhauled the world itself and the way people play in it. It took us a while to come to a conclusion on where we should branch out next, but with some help of some recent public criticism we realized the true direction we should be taking with this truly inspirational game.
It is well known that Minecraft is played by all ages, we’ve met kids as young as 3 to adults in their 90s. As much as this continues to impress us, we’ve realized that this puts us in a special position with certain responsibilities that we should uphold. We are in a very unique position to make a difference to the world and we have decided to accept this new role in society. We’ve thought long and hard about this, but we finally feel happy to announce that we are now changing the general direction of the game Minecraft. Starting from the next update we will be focusing on the things that make life worth living, promoting healthy relationships with the environment and its inhabitants.
You may have been wondering why we’ve not released any snapshots in some time. This was done with the best intentions in mind, and we’ll try to explain why we made this choice. We realized that sharing snapshots was very unfair to those that didn’t want to get update spoilers by not using snapshots, so we then decided to cancel the snapshot release cycle. In later meetings we realized that this decision itself was unfair to those who did want to be spoiled, so we decided to bring them back. However, we then came to the conclusion that withholding snapshots was unfair to those who did want to see snapshots, and sharing snapshots was unfair to those who didn’t want to see snapshots, this put us in a very hurtful position in regards to our new Equality Policy. After a long debate, we came to the final conclusion which should make...

Shop owners should now be able to change their prices a lot more efficently. You can now copy text form normal signs to shop signs by using the Lapis_ore block
P.s. This feature is only open to Citizens and above.

Just a quick update to the website CSS code:
All signatures are limited to 250px
All images inside signatures are limited to 100px in height and 800px in width
This is due to some extremely large signatures I've been seeing lately.
I've added a poll to have people choose whether they want to increase picture size in height but be limited in picture amount.
