So I've taken up animating

    Your skills have much improved. I am still noticing a tendency to do many movements the same speed, as stanky talked about earlier.

    Some constructive feedback on this short clip:
    • Thr0 puts his hands up, AND LOOKS AT SPACE before Luc jumps on him. It may be better to have Luc jump then Thr0 puts his hands up with quicker movements, after Thr0 is in the air. (Comin at ya Gangnam style!)
    • You've obviously put a camera in Thr0 head/eyes. Nice idea there. Perhaps you could animate his head more? looking around frantically? following luc's hand or the sword? or looking down at his chest with blood pooling at the entry point?
    • Why does Thr0's hand stay still when the sword impacts? if it was mine I would be like, *Flail in pain oh the agony!*
    • there's a subtle humour there of Luc looking at the Thr0s arm
    • Work on Luc's 1-2 punch. The arm movements there are nice and quick, but dont quite match what the head is doing. Also perhaps the punch could be more violent, one that actually rocks the head sideways instead of a light tap to the nose? Or was a direct punch what you were intending?
    • Luc's victory standing on Thr0. Speed up the step - it is too slow and similar. Perhaps make it a stomp or a kick, either out of vindictiveness or frustration?
    • There is something about that laugh that annoys me. It doesn't seem to fit with the scene. In my humble opinion, it either needs to be a more desperately sad laugh, because he DOESNT want to give up to the Other, but he sees no other choice, or a more evil fully embracing the Other laugh type. At the moment it sounds, in-between and wishy washy. At the end of the laugh, it loses its power.
      • Another thing about the laugh, the scene is outdoors, but the laugh sounds flat, or like it's in a recording room. Add something like an faint echo against the cobble or some distance, or some other ambient, but very very subtle noise to the soundtrack. Perhaps some small whisper of wind? The laugh there is a focal point so it needs more polishing.
    • The music is nice, sad, lovely female vocals and piano there.

    Overall great work! You have some good skill at this. I look forward to what you produce next.

    Thanks for the feedback! Yea, the timing is a little hard to nail down, but that seems to be part of the limitations of Mineimator. I actually have to correct some timings in a different software. I was going for a direct punch. After the second punch when he's kind of wiggling his head, I was kind of trying to illustrate him starting to lose consciousness, I think.

    I think the hardest part for me is making a story for the animation. Haha. I need someone to write a small story, I think.

    Blender (if you can survive the steep learning curve) might be an answer to your dilemma.

    eightnine, I'm no poet or author but I've written a some short stories before and I'd love to help you with the story!;)
