Hi, heres update #3 (I think). Lots of things have changed.. I now have what I consider to be my own man cave Overview of desk area. I didn't bother cleaning up, sorry (Ikea = teh best) Closer look at monitor setup and keyboard/mouse/5.1 speakers I installed an LED strip alongside the LED fan that came with the case (yes, the LED's make the computer faster) iPhone quality panoramic of man-cave, missing about 20% of the room. Next to the giant 90's TV you see my PS2 and Super Nintendo. I keep my PS3 on my desk. The door next to the painting is my room. I wish I could take down the paintings and put up posters but alas.. I'm not allowed. Even though I am 17. Last but not least, a closer look at my glorious wallpaper. (I got that monitor today) System specs in spoiler: Spoiler (Move your mouse to the spoiler area to reveal the content) Show Spoiler Hide Spoiler PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wq4xbv Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/wq4xbv/by_merchant/ CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor ($139.99 @ SuperBiiz) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Amazon) Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5g Thermal Paste ($6.73 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-970A-DS3 ATX AM3+ Motherboard Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($94.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Samsung 840 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($131.45 @ SuperBiiz) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 500GB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($44.99 @ Amazon) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($51.99 @ NCIX US) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card ($189.99 @ NCIX US) Case: NZXT Phantom 410 (Gunmetal/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($84.99 @ Mwave) Power Supply: Rosewill Hive 650W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($59.99 @ Newegg) Optical Drive: Samsung SH-224BB DVD/CD Writer ($22.49 @ Amazon) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($84.99 @ NCIX US) Wireless Network Adapter: TP-Link TL-WN822N 802.11b/g/n USB 2.0 Wi-Fi Adapter ($14.99 @ Micro Center) Case Fan: NZXT FN-120RB 47.3 CFM 120mm Fan ($5.93 @ OutletPC) Case Fan: NZXT FN-120RB 47.3 CFM 120mm Fan ($5.93 @ OutletPC) Keyboard: Razer DeathStalker Wired Gaming Keyboard ($61.99 @ Amazon) Mouse: Razer DeathAdder Wired Optical Mouse Speakers: Logitech Z506 155W 5.1ch Speakers ($60.99 @ Best Buy) Total: $1092.41 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-08-07 14:34 EDT-0400
I've got an asus notebook and it still runs very nicely on minecraft with the settings pumped all the way up, along with some music playing in the background and a bunch of tabs on my browser opened.. I just hope that I dont wear it out over the years to come.
I love your setup Luc, mine isnt that impressive though i just use my asus notebook and a blue logitech wireless mouse, apple ear buds, and sometimes I hook my pc up to my 51 inch samsung tv.
I don't have much of a setup but I got my first laptop and it runs Minecraft exceptionally well! Which I am thankful for. Laptop: Toshiba Satellite Some specs: Intel® Pentium® N3530 Processor 8GB DDR3L memory Intel PENTIUM 2.16 GHz 500GB Serial ATA hard disk drive Windows 8.1 (sadly) Mobile Intel HD graphics with shared graphics memory I also have a gaming mouse... It's the CM Storm Devastator.
oh that i have to remember no one is in my head. I was talking from about his previous comment a few years ago, i was just talking about my asus notebook because he mentioned that he wasnt getting an asus pc and I just inferred a little about how well they run at least in my experience. Does that help a bit Fill?
I think that I might need to learn to hit reply from now on when I reply to someone with a 2 year gap. kind of should have read the date before not after
little update: keyboard works again, putting some isopropyl alcohol on the problematic row of keys and letting it dry for 1-2 days fixed the problem (water... maybe)
Yay you have the same as me exept for i have windows 7, microsoft wireless mouse 1000, Sennheiser HD 349 headphones and a advent wireless keyboard (because having my laptop too close hurts my eyes.
Its not always 2 computers. One PC can run 2 screens. Especially a lot of the builds here. But I am sure that people do more then just MC type of gaming with these nice higher end builds. I have been using 2 monitors forever now. Once you go dual-monitor its hard to go back. ALL OF THE SPACE. You can have a wiki or browser open on one side and game on the other. (Simple use) Even if people have multiple PCs there are plenty of things you can do with them. I could type up a laundry list of reasons but I wont. Simply though it could be server hosting, gaming, or a lot more. We have talented people on this server that make music, videos and everything else. Dual screens or multiple PCs could really help with these. Just because you don't see a need for it doesn't mean the people getting it 'don't need' it.
